About the Speaker:
Anna Wong is a mother of a young adult lady with special needs. As the co-founder of Senses-at-Play, Anna has a strong passion in advocating the importance of Play in a learning different child and seeks to share her journey and knowledge, to assist parents who are in the same predicament. She has been invited as a guest speaker for a number of NGOs and parent-support groups, and has made an appearance in Bella (NTV 7).
About the Event:
Many parents are often at loss when their child is diagnosed with a learning disability. Here are some of the helpful topics for a parent who is about to embark on this special journey:
- The How-To: Seeking knowledge, getting support and setting a new mind-set
- The Dos and Don’ts: Parenting a special child
- The Essentials: Play, Self-help skills and Therapy sessions
- The Future: Schooling, the teenage years and beyond
The session will include some games for participants to gain hands-on experiences and an open discussion, both facilitated by Anna herself.
