Poh Yin obtained her Diploma in Occupational Therapy from Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMUC), Malaysia. She has gained work experience in a variety of practice areas, including Paediatrics, Physical, Psychiatric, Geriatric, and Neurology.

Before joining the Oasis Place team, Poh Yin worked in a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). During that time, Poh Yin was part of a Neurology & General Rehabilitation (NGR) team, which gave her opportunities to work with a wide range of patients, including stroke, Parkinson’s disease and other neurology cases. After a year working in NGR, Poh Yin applied for a transfer to the Paediatric Rehabilitation Department as she desired to develop her work experience in different practice areas. In the Paediatric Rehabilitation Department, Poh Yin increased her pool of work experience to include helping children with special needs, especially with Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy and other neurodevelopmental disorder. Throughout the year of working with special needs children, Poh Yin was also involved in organizing workshops and group activities for parents as well as for special needs children and their siblings.

Poh Yin welcomes opportunities to continue developing her skills by attending workshops and conferences as well as learning from her colleagues from other disciplines. Poh Yin finds great joy in working with special needs children. She believes that, with guidance and support, every special needs child has the potential to achieve his or her fullest abilities. She lives by her motto to “serve and help those in need with a sincere heart.”
