MS JOANNE GOH


Joanne is a School Psychologist who obtained her Master’s (M.S.Ed) and Education Specialist (Ed.S) Degrees in School Psychology from University of Wisconsin-Stout, USA. She received her Bachelor Degree (B.A) in Psychology in Bemidji State University, Minnesota, USA.

Joanne worked as a school psychologist in elementary school setting in Wisconsin prior to joining Oasis Place. As a school psychologist, she helps children to succeed academically, socially, behaviourally, and emotionally. She has worked closely with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe and supportive learning environments.

In Oasis Place, Joanne runs individual and group therapy that use the social thinking approaches in a regular basis. Her experience also includes psycho-educational assessment, screening and progress monitoring, individual counselling, functional behavioural assessment (FBA) and Behaviour Intervention Plan (BIP). She is well versed in various diagnostic tools such as Wechsler, Leiter, ADOS, Conners, Vineland, and many others. She has experience working with children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, emotional and behavioural difficulties, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and others.

Furthermore, Joanne has provided consultative services to parents and teachers related to academic, social-emotional, and behavioural concerns. She has also provided teachers’ support on finding evidence-based interventions, methods to monitor and assess the effectiveness of interventions and students’ progress toward goals. Other than that, Joanne provides continuous training and workshop to teachers and parents within the local community.

Presently, Joanne has been trained in sensory integration and Social Thinking approaches. She also attended Hanen training “SPARK Communication: Coaching Parents to use Hanen Strategies workshop”. Joanne has passion working with children with special needs and supporting the connections between home, school, and community.
