Cheng Yi is a Chartered Educational Psychologist with a Graduate Diploma in Education. She trained in Australia and has worked in the UK for ten years. She is registered with the British Psychological Society and licenced with the UK Health and Care Professional Council.

Her last role in the UK was consultant for Children’s Services in Peterborough City Council. Her main clients include schools and local education authorities. Her experience covers assessment and support for children with special needs and providing expert advice to the schools on child development, special needs and behaviour. This also includes delivering training to teachers, parents and children service providers.

Since 2012, Cheng Yi has worked in Malaysia as consultant providing specialist advice to parents and teachers. This has allowed her to gain experience in the local Malaysian needs and context.

Presently, she is the Head Psychologist at Oasis Place. She supervised the successful design and implementation of Quest Oasis – A living skill programme for youths – using a transdisciplinary model involving evidenced-based therapeutic approaches.

Her work also involved connecting with local and international schools to advocate the needs of children of special needs, as well as to provide wider support for the process of inclusion. Cheng Yi’s work also involve psychological assessment of a wide variety of developmental and learning difficulties.

She provides continuous professional development to schools and community special needs groups. She has lectured part time at Help University in the Department of Psychology and continue to keep in touch with the work of training student interns, in the application of psychological theories in a multidisciplinary setting.
