Asako Mitani

Music Therapist


Upon completing her Bachelor in Sociology and Masters in Education for Special Needs, Asako Mitani went on to study music therapy at the Japan Welfare and Education College. Today, Asako is a certified Music Therapist registered with the Japanese Music Therapy Association. She has brought awareness of Music Therapy to many institutions in Japan, including the Poco-a-Poco Music Therapy Studio, Tokyo Women’s Medical Hospital, Koto-ku Special Needs Support Centre, and the Children and Family Support Centre. Asako works with special needs children and has worked with NASOM (The National Autism Society of Malaysia) and other private special learning centres in Malaysia since 2012. Asako is registered with Japanese Music Therapy Association and is proficient in English and Japanese.
