Charmaine Nga

Occupational Therapist

Charmaine holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy with Honours from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). During her clinical placements, she gained experience working with individuals across the lifespan in various settings, including paediatrics, psychiatry, neurology, orthopaedics, and geriatrics. She has a special interest in working with children and adolescents, particularly in supporting their development and learning.

Charmaine is passionate about creating engaging and meaningful therapy sessions tailored to each child’s unique needs and strengths. She values the use of play, creativity, and connection in therapy, and believes in empowering children through a holistic, play-based approach.

In addition to her work as an occupational therapist, Charmaine is also a part-time Wushu coach, teaching Chinese martial arts to primary school-aged children. She is a registered member of the Malaysian Occupational Therapy Association (MOTA), and is fluent in English, Malay, and Mandarin.

Yap Choy Min (Esther)

Occupational Therapist

Esther holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy with Honours from The National University of Malaysia (UKM). Following her graduation, she gained valuable experience as an occupational therapist in a private hospital setting, working with a diverse range of patients, including both children and adults. Throughout her career, Esther has had the opportunity to conduct several parent support groups and facilitate a series of workshop sessions on dementia care, demonstrating her dedication to supporting both patients and their families.

Esther strongly believes in the importance of play and meaningful activities in fostering children’s learning and skill development. She values building positive rapport with children and emphasizes the importance of collaboration between therapists, parents, and educators to promote children’s growth and learning. Esther is fluent in English, Malay, Mandarin, and Cantonese. She is a registered member of the Malaysian Occupational Therapists Association (MOTA).

Amanda Martin

Education Therapist

Amanda Martin holds both a Master’s in Child Psychology and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from University College Sedaya International (UCSI). She is passionate about working with children across preschool, primary, and secondary school settings. Her early experiences include working with children in preschool up to secondary environments and also assisting with psychological assessments during her Master’s internship at a leading private hospital. These roles strengthened her understanding of developmental needs and the importance of early support.

At Oasis Place, Amanda serves as an Education Therapist, working closely with clinical psychologists to support children with learning and behavioural challenges. She also conducts parent and teacher workshops, equipping caregivers with practical strategies to navigate children’s challenging behaviours and foster healthy development. Guided by a strong belief in nurturing growth through understanding, Amanda is committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and their families.

Simon Tan

Occupational Therapist

Simon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from I-Shou University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Following graduation, Simon delved deeper into paediatric occupational therapy, aiming to expand his expertise in this specialized field. He obtained certification in Sensory Integration from the Collaborative for Leadership in Ayres Sensory Integration (CLASI) and dedicated himself to mastering, applying, and advancing knowledge in Ayres Sensory Integration® (ASI) theory.

Simon is enthusiastic about a play-based intervention approach, firmly believing that strengthening the foundational skills of children significantly enhances their performance in daily life. He places a strong emphasis on the rapport between children, recognizing its crucial role in fostering a positive therapeutic environment. Simon is registered with the Malaysian Occupational Therapists Association (MOTA).

Ng Wing Hong (Nic)

Clinical Psychologist

Nic is a Clinical Psychologist with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from the University of Cyberjaya (UoC). He is a member of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP) and is in the process of joining the Malaysian Allied Health of Clinical Psychology (MAHPC). Before obtaining his master’s degree, Nic spent two years working with neurodiverse children, primarily those diagnosed with specific learning disorders. During his postgraduate training, he gained experience conducting psychological assessments and psychotherapy with both children and adults, working in private centers and a government hospital. Passionate about empowering parents, Nic strives to help them understand their children’s unique strengths while supporting them in overcoming challenges. His primary psychotherapy approach is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), though he integrates elements from various modalities to tailor his sessions to each client’s needs.

Eunice Chong Yi Xua

Clinical Psychologist

Eunice is a Clinical Psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults facing emotional, neurodevelopmental, and mental health challenges. She provides comprehensive psychological assessments and uses integrated, evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual’s unique needs.

Eunice believes that evidence-based mental health care should be accessible to all—not a luxury. She takes a holistic approach, walking alongside parents and caregivers as
collaborative partners in their loved one’s healing journey, while also supporting their own well-being.

Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Eunice is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for people from all backgrounds. She is registered with the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP) and the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC), and is committed to helping each person feel heard, understood, and empowered on their path to better mental health.

Grace Leong

Clinical Psychologist

Grace is a Clinical Psychologist with a passion for working with individuals with developmental delays and learning differences. She has worked for a number of years with young children, adolescents and their families. She has received specialized training in assessing developmental conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD and learning disabilities. She has co-facilitated group programs for school-going children and young adults using the Social Thinking approach. Additionally, she offers trainings and talks to teachers and parents on topics relating to learning, behavior and attachment. In the past, she has worked with the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) and National University Hospital in Singapore as part of a multidisciplinary team. Grace is also a Singapore Registered Psychologist and a member of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology. As a mother, Grace understands the importance of providing meaningful, practical and emotional support for children and their families. She believes that every child wants to succeed and do well. With that in mind, she often strives to support families and schools to discover, nurture and develop the child’s potential.

Tan Keng Han (Hanz)

Psychotherapist

Hanz is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario and a certified Art Therapist. He completed his master’s-level clinician training in Art Therapy at Kutenai Art Therapy Institute in Canada and has facilitated art therapy workshops internationally. After spending 15 years using art for social change, Hanz believes that art therapy is one of the most potent tools for creating change. This belief underpins his therapeutic framework, rooted in a person-centred, humanistic, trauma-informed and embodied approach, drawing on various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based techniques, and psychodynamic methods. He is passionate about Oriental ink brushwork as a method for self-care, emotional release and personal integrity, demonstrating that ancient traditions have a timeless value in modern healing. As a mental health practitioner, he has clinical experience working with individuals of all ages and from culturally diverse backgrounds in a variety of settings such as child and family services, parent(caregiver)-child dyad across various developmental stages, hospitals, schools, and long-term-care facilities.

Shaktira Mohan

Education Therapist

Shaktira holds a Master’s in Developmental Disorders from the University of Nottingham and a Bachelor’s with Honours in Psychology from Lancaster University, Sunway campus, where she also served as Campus Leader for Teach for Malaysia. Her early volunteering at orphanages and refugee centres sparked her passion for supporting children with diverse abilities. Shaktira has also completed courses on sensory motor development, positive psychology, and child observation. As a learning support teacher aide at a Waldorf international school, she ran remedial programs and developed collaborative action plans. A strong advocate for early intervention, Shaktira believes timely support helps children of all abilities thrive.

At Oasis Place, Shaktira serves as the Lead Interventionist (Education Therapist) and is a key member of the Learning and Development team, working to raise awareness, provide support, and develop new programs. She specialises in supporting individuals with dyslexia, reading, and writing difficulties through programs like Sounds-Write, EmPOWER, and Brain Frames. Shaktira also runs social communication programs that equip children with essential social skills. As part of Best Buddies Malaysia, she fosters one-to-one friendships for neurodiverse adults, promoting meaningful connections. Additionally, she serves as a job coach (Neurodiversity@Work), helping neurodiverse individuals find employment and develop life skills

Shirley De Cruz

Client Connect & Process Coordinator

Shirley holds a Bachelor of Education dual award from Segi University and the University of Central Lancashire. With a deep love for children, she is passionate about supporting both neurotypical and neurodiverse learners in their educational journeys. Shirley has spent several years dedicated to understanding, supporting, and advocating for her neurodiverse nephew. Her journey began when her nephew was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD and she quickly took on an active role in learning how to create an inclusive, nurturing environment that would help him thrive. Her focus has always been on helping her nephew develop both socially and emotionally while ensuring that his individual strengths are celebrated. Her experience has also inspired her to raise awareness about neurodiversity and to encourage others to adopt a more inclusive mindset when interacting with children with similar needs. Currently, Shirley applies her skills in administration at Oasis Place where she actively contributes to creating supportive environments for children and their families. Shirley firmly believes in the importance of working in an organised manner and upholding good governance to achieve impactful results. With a blend of compassion and professionalism, she strives to make a positive difference in the lives of those she serves.

Grace Ng Hui Min

Music Therapist

Grace Ng is a Registered Music Therapist. She obtained her Bachelor of Music and Master ofCreative Music Therapy from Western Sydney University (WSU), Sydney, Australia, and is registered with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA).Grace had two and a half years of experience working at Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia, gaining experience with a diverse population, including toddlers, prep school children, teenagers, adults, the elderly, and those in aged care with various disabilities,including mental health. She also had experience facilitating music therapy programmes in an Early Education Day-Care facility in Australia, involving active music-making, group singing, turn-taking, and dancing. The activities focus on cognitive development, environmental and social awareness, fine and gross motor skills, speech production and literacy, social-communicative abilities, and emotional regulation and awareness. Additionally, Grace had experience facilitating support music lessons for children, teenagers, and adults interested in learning the Piano, Violin, or Guitar. Furthermore, Geerthinny bolstered her expertise as an Assistant Speech Therapist at Yayasan Ipoh and contributed her time as a volunteer working with neurodiverse children before embarking on her formal speech therapy training at We Rock The Spectrum Kids Gym Malaysia. Wichitra Phon

Clinical Psychologist

Wichitra is a Clinical Psychologist with a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). She is currently in the process of becoming a member of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP) and the Malaysian Allied Health of Clinical Psychology (MAHPC). Wichitra has worked with neurodiverse children four years prior to obtaining her masters and was attached to government hospitals during her post-graduate training to conduct assessments and psychotherapy with adults. She has a passion for helping individuals of all ages overcome psychological challenges, fostering a sense of well-being, and promoting mental health awareness within the community. She is well-versed in conducting psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults, and her main psychotherapy modalities are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Chanelle Tan

Clinical Psychologist

Chanelle is a clinical psychologist who completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychological Science from Deakin University, Australia and her Master in Clinical Psychology from the National University of Malaysia (UKM). She is currently in the process of becoming a member of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP).

Chanelle has a strong passion for working with diverse age populations including children, adolescents and adults. Moreover, she is deeply committed to working with caregivers of neurodevelopmental children, firmly believing that addressing caregiver burden is essential, and their mental well-being is equally important as that of the neurodevelopmental population.

Chanelle was attached to a local hospital and a government special education school to work with both children and adults. Her experience encompasses clients with neurodevelopmental disorders, personality disorders, depression and anxiety, and sexual disorders.

Her therapeutic modalities primarily include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Behaviour Therapy. She is proficient in English, Mandarin and Malay languages.

Elaine Lee Zie Yi

Clinical Psychologist

Lee Zie Yi is a Clinical Psychologist with a Masters in Clinical Psychology from UCSI University and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from Sunway University. Zie Yi provides psychological assessments and psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults with neurodiversity, behavioural difficulties, phobias, traumatic experiences, personality disorders, suicidal thoughts, and emotional issues. During her training, she had experience working with children refugees and supported them by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including social welfare. She practises Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Person Centered Therapy (PCT) as she believes in the building up of trust and rapport is essential in making changes in clients.

She has also attended training in Social Thinking and incorporated her learnings into her work. She plans and runs Social Thinking groups across age groups. Zie Yi organises workshops and training sessions covering diverse areas linked to mental health and neurodiversity, catering to a wide range of audiences such as educational establishments, NGOs, and corporations. Zie Yi is registered with the Malaysia Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP) and is proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

Sharifah Mastura

Clinical Psychologist

Sharifah Mastura is a clinical psychologist. She attained both her first class honours Bachelor of Human Sciences (Psychology) and Masters of Human Sciences in Psychology (Clinical and Counselling Psychology) from the International Islamic University Malaysia. She is registered under the Malaysian Allied Health of Clinical Psychology (MAHPC).

Mastura is trained in integrating psychological assessments and psychotherapy for children with developmental conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Adhd and learning difficulties. She also has experience treating adolescents and adults facing different mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar and personality disorders in hospital settings.

Her main psychotherapy modalities are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). She is currently diving into spiritual perspective in psychology. Mastura is proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Lee Jye Ling

Clinical Psychologist

Jelly is a Clinical Psychologist with a Masters in Clinical Psychology from UCSI University and an MSc in Clinical and Abnormal Psychology from the University of South Wales. She is a member of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP) and the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC), while also being a registered member of the British Psychological Society. Jelly is passionate about working with individuals of all ages who are struggling with mental health concerns and is committed to accompanying them through their journeys, both good and bad. However, she has a special interest in supporting parents and children with special needs and providing guidance to parents on how to better understand and support their children.

Jelly is currently involved in supporting the Quest buddies programme and Neurodiversity @ work. She has expertise in conducting psychological assessments, group therapy, and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, families, and working adults. Jelly has worked with clients who have neurodevelopmental disorders, learning difficulties, and a broad range of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidal thoughts, grief, and loss. She primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) but also incorporates other techniques based on the specific needs of her clients to help them with their behavioural and psychological issues. Jelly is proficient in both English and Mandarin.

Farha Adiela

Occupational Therapist

Farha graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Cardiff University and obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Special Education (Learning Difficulties) from the Teachers’ Education Institute of Malaysia. She has furthered her specialisation and graduated with a Master in Occupational Therapy (Developmental Disabilities) from UiTM and has been working with children and families from a variety of age groups, abilities and backgrounds.
Farha believes in the importance of meaningful engagement through the children’s interests as well as the power of parents’ and educators’ empowerment for the livelihood of the child. Farha is registered with the Malaysian Occupational Therapists Association (MOTA) and is proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Soo Huey

Occupational Therapist

Soo Huey earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from I-Shou University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Since graduating, she has been working with children in paediatrics and has found her true passion in working with families and children in the early intervention setting. She is also a member of the Malaysian Occupational Therapy Association (MOTA). She believes that self-directed learning is a powerful tool that can help children stay relevant and adaptable in today’s rapidly changing world. In addition to her work, Soo Huey enjoys spending time with family and friends, engaging in various activities such as basketball, badminton, hiking, travelling, playing guitar, and listening to music and podcasts. She is proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin, which is a valuable asset in both her personal and professional life. Rayshell Wong

Speech Language Pathologist

Rayshell graduated with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Psychology from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology from the National University of Singapore. She has honed her skills through her work in rehabilitation hospitals and children’s hospitals in Singapore. Rayshell also had 3 years of experience as a behavioral therapist and volunteering experiences with neurodiverse children prior to pursuing her speech therapy training. Rayshell is passionate about promoting acceptance and raising awareness of individuals with speech, language and communication disorders. She believes that education is a powerful tool in this effort and is dedicated to using her skills and expertise to make a positive impact in the lives of those she works with. She enjoys collaborating with caregivers in developing individualized and holistic treatment plans to ensure the best outcomes for her clients. Rayshell is proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.

Rachel Lo

Assistant Psychologist

Rachel graduated from Bachelor (Hons) of Psychology at Sunway University. She used to deal with children with neurodevelopmental disorders and multiple learning disabilities. Currently, Rachel is an Assistant Psychologist at Oasis Place. Aside from assisting Psychologists on daily work, Rachel also assists with interventions and events. She is passionate about working with children and has interest towards adults and adolescents as well. Rachel has been trained on applying Social Thinking concepts on emotional learning and related events. Rachel believes that it is just different learning and coping methods that make everyone different, and her goal is to help find the best ways for the individuals to communicate with the world.

Jenn Fu

Education Therapist

Jenn is an assistant psychologist and interventionist who holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University at Inti International College Subang. Currently, she’s advancing her education with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.

In her role, Jenn provides ongoing intervention support to psychologists while actively engaging with diverse client groups. Her expertise spans several specialized programs, including the Sounds-Write Program tailored for dyslexic individuals, Social Communication sessions designed for ages 5 to 18, and Job Coaching/life-skills programs for adults. Additionally, she actively participates in events such as Best Buddies Malaysia, advocating for neurodiversity.

Outside of her professional commitments, Jenn extends her support as an empathetic listener on PlusVibes, where she offers solace to individuals in distress. She strongly believes that it is in giving that one receives.

Jeanette Suen

Occupational Therapist

Jeanette Suen was instrumental as an advisor to the founders of Oasis Place during its inception. She is a registered occupational therapist of Singapore and Canada with almost forty years of experience working with children in Hong Kong, Canada and Singapore. She has a private occupational therapy consultancy in Singapore and continues to serve as an advisor to Oasis Place.

Jeanette is specialised in treating children with developmental delay, sensorimotor and/or neurodevelopmental issues, such as those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy and more. She is certified in the administration and interpretation of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests, and in the use of the Bobath Method. She has completed the advanced level training in Therapeutic Listening, and is experienced in using that to augment occupational therapy intervention programs. Other than clinical work, Jeanette is interested in training and education. She is an approved supervisor for Practicing Certification of the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) of Singapore, and has been actively involved in grooming young therapists. Jeanette has given numerous workshops and talks to professionals, parents and students on topics related to paediatric occupational therapy and sensorimotor development.

Jacqui Tan

Clinical Mentor

Jacqui was part of the start-up team at Oasis Place in 2014. She set up and led the Speech Language Team, shaping the direction of the department and mentoring younger therapists. Currently, Jacqui serves as a clinical mentor and continues to offer consultation services and advice to the Speech and Language Team. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a certified Hanen consultant in It Takes Two To Talk and More Than Words. Having practised since 2008 in the USA and Malaysia, Jacqui has had diverse experience working with children, adolescents and adults in different settings including: rehabilitation hospitals, schools, adolescent day care centres, clients’ homes, private clinics, and early intervention. Jacqui has experience working with a variety of communication needs including articulation, language, pre-verbal skills, social skills, voice and stuttering.

Teoh Tze Yen

Tze Yen is an IT graduate who has worked in the education industry for over two decades. Tze Yen enjoys working with young adults and serves as the Head of Admissions and International Office at various other institutes of higher learning. Working in the education industry has made Tze Yen realise the importance of mental well-being for young adults. At Oasis Place, Tze Yen facilitates overall awareness of mental health care and strives to make a difference in all she does. In her spare time, Tze Yen loves to read, spend time in the garden and travel.

Maalathi Sockalingam

Centre Manager

Maalathi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston, Texas. Following her studies, she embarked on a dynamic career in the aviation industry, specialising in cargo operations upon her return to Malaysia in 2010. Over the span of a decade, she adeptly managed the operations of numerous foreign carriers, gaining invaluable experience in the field. However, feeling a deep-seated urge to contribute more meaningfully to society, Maalathi transitioned her career path towards education. She discovered a profound sense of fulfilment in teaching English to children, recognizing the immense joy in working closely with them and their families.

Driven by her newfound passion, Maalathi made a pivotal decision to leave the cargo industry behind and join Oasis Place. Here, she embarked on a journey of personal growth while extending her support to clients and their families as the office manager. Over the course of eight years, Maalathi’s dedication and expertise led her to take charge of the learning and development team, drawing upon her training as a Signposts for Building Better Behavior facilitator.

Beyond her professional endeavours, Maalathi finds solace and rejuvenation in yoga and delves into the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda in her leisure time. She is a certified Ayurveda massage therapist, exploring the holistic benefits of this age-old practice.

Melissa Low

Customer Service

Melissa Low has a Bachelor of Science with Honours (Plant Resource Science and Management) from the University of Malaysia, Sarawak. Melissa is passionate about psychology and caring for children, both mentally and physically. As a Customer Support Team Member of Oasis Place, Melissa provides administrative, emotional and customer service support to Oasis Place clients. Melissa believes the most enjoyable and meaningful part of her job is to be able to help people from all walks of life grow and thrive despite their learning differences.

Rebecca Krishnan

Customer Service

Rebecca Krishnan earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Management from the University Tun Abdul Razak (UNITAR). Rebecca is currently pursuing her studies in Advanced Special Education at CAE. Rebecca is experienced in the multi-facets of management at both small and large organizations. Rebecca worked for 10 years in logistics in Perak Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, covering various management and operational practices. Rebecca loves working with children and her strengths are patience, adaptability and her ability to work well in a team environment.

Lee Chui Ki

Occupational Therapist

Chui-Ki has a Bachelor’s Degree of Applied Science (Occupational Therapy) from the University of South Australia where she worked in a variety of fields including Geriatrics, Acute Rehabilitation and Mental Health. After graduating, Chui-Ki further explored paediatric occupational therapy and has since worked with children from a variety of age groups, backgrounds and challenges. Chui-Ki believes in the importance of play, meaningful activities and flexibility when working with children, allowing them to explore, learn and develop new skills. She conducts executive functioning sessions for school age and teenage clients both in person and online to support them in meaningful and functional areas of their day-to-day lives.

Chui Ki co-designed Oasis Place’s programmes “Movement to Mindfulness” (M2M) and “Cool, Focused, Organised” (CFO) amongst others, and enjoys providing support for the other programmes run by her colleagues. She has received her Certification in the “Program of Essential Competencies in Sensory Integration” (PECSI), as well as a Yoga Alliance Certification. Chui Ki is registered with the Malaysian Occupational Therapists Association (MOTA) and is proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Asako Mitani

Music Therapist

Upon completing her Bachelor in Sociology and Masters in Education for Special Needs, Asako Mitani went on to study music therapy at the Japan Welfare and Education College. Today, Asako is a certified Music Therapist registered with the Japanese Music Therapy Association. She has brought awareness of Music Therapy to many institutions in Japan, including the Poco-a-Poco Music Therapy Studio, Tokyo Women’s Medical Hospital, Koto-ku Special Needs Support Centre, and the Children and Family Support Centre. Asako works with special needs children and has worked with NASOM (The National Autism Society of Malaysia) and other private special learning centres in Malaysia since 2012. Asako is registered with Japanese Music Therapy Association and is proficient in English and Japanese.

Esther Lim

Speech Language Pathologist

Esther received her Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology from Flinders University in South Australia where she also worked as a Speech Therapist in children’s hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, private clinics and schools. Esther’s skills cover a range of communication needs including articulation, language, pre-verbal skills, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and stuttering. Esther is passionate about play-based therapies and believes that working collaboratively with families and allied professionals is crucial for successful intervention. Esther is registered with the Malaysian Association of Speech-Language & Hearing (MASH) and is a Hanen-Certified Speech-Language Pathologist in the “More Than Words® Hanen Program” offered via OPConnect or onsite.

Petrina Cheong

Speech Language Pathologist

Petrina graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Speech Pathology and Therapy from the Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK. While studying, Petrina worked with clients of varying ages and needs in community health centres, specialist residential centres, primary and secondary schools, and speech and language therapy clinics. Petrina is passionate about supporting children, parents and family members on their communication journey. Petrina has worked with children with autism, learning disabilities, aphasia, developmental language delay, global delay, Down Syndrome, speech and stuttering, and articulation difficulties. Petrina is registered with the Malaysian Association of Speech-Language & Hearing (MASH) and is proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Chong Poh Yin

Occupational Therapist

Poh Yin obtained her Diploma in Occupational Therapy from Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University College (KLMUC), Malaysia. She has gained work experience in a variety of areas including paediatrics, psychiatry, geriatrics and neurology. Poh Yin graduated from the Certification Course in Program of Essential Competencies in Sensory Integration (PECSI). Before joining Oasis Place, Poh Yin worked in a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) where she was part of a Neurology & General Rehabilitation (NGR) team working with stroke, Parkinson’s disease and other neurology cases. After a year at NGR, Poh Yin transferred to the Paediatric Rehabilitation Department to further develop her experience with children with special needs. Poh Yin is registered with the Malaysian Occupational Therapists Association (MOTA) and is proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.

Ch’ng Mei Qi

Occupational Therapist

Mei Qi obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from the National University of Malaysia (UKM) Upon graduating, Mei Qi started work with interest in paediatrics OT and has started to extend her occupation therapy intervention to support transition to independent life and work skills. Mei Qi completed her Certification Course in Program of Essential Competencies in Sensory Integration. Mei Qi specialises in children with special needs and believes every child is special in their own way. Mei Qui enjoys using her love for creativity to plan unique and interesting activities as part of her intervention therapies. Mei Qi is registered with the Malaysian Occupational Therapists Association (MOTA) and is proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.

La Veina Sangaran

Clinical Psychologist

La Veina is a Clinical Psychologist with a degree in Psychology (BSc Hons) with first class honours and a Masters in Clinical Psychology from HELP University. She is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a full member of Persatuan Psikologi Malaysia (PSIMA) and the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychologists (MSCP). La Veina is passionate about existential-humanistic teachings and cognitive behavioural methods. She supports mental health counselling and codeveloped “Oasis Place’s Kindness Matters” Program that celebrates The World Mental Health Day annually. She is committed to helping those facing relationship issues, abuse, self-esteem issues, grief, and mental health disorders related to mood, trauma, stress, personality, and substance abuse. La Veina conducts Psychological and IQ Assessments for conditions such as ASD, ADHD, learning disabilities and disruptive, impulse control and conduct disorders. La Veina is registered with the Malaysia Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP) and is proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia. La Veina’s appointments are via OPConnect only.

Michelle Chong Hui Yi

Clinical Psychologist

Michelle is a Registered Clinical Psychologist under the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC) and a member of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP). She holds a Master’s in Clinical Psychology from HELP University and has over five years of experience in private practice and one of Malaysia’s top private hospitals

She supports clients across the lifespan – from toddlers to older adults – and specialises in pediatric assessments for autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and behavioural or emotional challenges. Michelle also works with individuals facing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and adjustment issues using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based approaches.

Her work philosophy centres on creating a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals and families can process emotions and move toward what truly matters. With children, she values play, connection, and close collaboration with parents and educators.

Michelle is trained in the Social Thinking® methodology, provides parent and teacher training, and supervises postgraduate clinical psychology students at Taylor’s University. She regularly delivers corporate mental health talks locally and internationally, and her insights have been featured in The Star, AsiaTV News, 8TV, Chinapress, and Oriental Daily.

She is fluent in English and Mandarin, and conversational in Cantonese and Bahasa Malaysia.

Ong Su Sen

Clinical Psychologist

Ong Su Sen is a Clinical Psychologist with a Masters in Clinical Psychology from The National University of Malaysia and a Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) from The University of Queensland. Su Sen provides psychological assessments and psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults with autism, ADHD, behavioural difficulties, phobias, traumatic experiences and emotional issues. Su Sen is passionate about working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Before pursuing her Master’s degree, Su Sen was trained as an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Therapist. Su Sen is registered with the Malaysia Society of Clinical Psychology (MSCP) and is proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.

Joanne Goh

School Psychologist

Joanne is a School Psychologist with a Masters (M.S.Ed) and Education Specialist (Ed.S) Degree in School Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, USA, and a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) in Psychology from Bemidji State University, Minnesota, USA. As a school psychologist, Joanne helps children grow academically, socially, behaviourally and emotionally. Joanne conducts training and workshops and has presented in SENIA Malaysia (Special Education Network International Asia). Joanne runs individual and group therapy using social thinking approaches. She is well versed in psycho-educational assessment, screening and progress monitoring, individual counselling, functional behavioural assessment (FBA) and behaviour intervention plans (BIP). Joanne has worked with children with autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, emotional and behavioural difficulties and more. Joanne is Wisconsin certified and is proficient in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
