Jeanette Suen
Occupational Therapist
Jeanette Suen was instrumental as an advisor to the founders of Oasis Place during its inception. She is a registered occupational therapist of Singapore and Canada with almost forty years of experience working with children in Hong Kong, Canada and Singapore. She has a private occupational therapy consultancy in Singapore and continues to serve as an advisor to Oasis Place.
Jeanette is specialised in treating children with developmental delay, sensorimotor and/or neurodevelopmental issues, such as those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy and more. She is certified in the administration and interpretation of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests, and in the use of the Bobath Method. She has completed the advanced level training in Therapeutic Listening, and is experienced in using that to augment occupational therapy intervention programs. Other than clinical work, Jeanette is interested in training and education. She is an approved supervisor for Practicing Certification of the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) of Singapore, and has been actively involved in grooming young therapists. Jeanette has given numerous workshops and talks to professionals, parents and students on topics related to paediatric occupational therapy and sensorimotor development.
