Toddler (0-5 Years)

A quick referral guide for parents to learn about the expected speech and language milestones for your toddler.

It is important to remember that children develop at their own rate. These charts tell you when most children who speak only one language will reach each milestone.

You may want to seek help if your child does not meet most of the skills by the time he/she reaches the top of the age range.

This guide was developed by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and can be used to identify signs and symptoms of an individual with a speech and language difficulty.
