Practice that provides information about how the hardest parts of life can impact our brains and bodies, how we can recognize when others are in emotional pain, and how we can be of help. This hybrid training experience also offers key reminders of how to take care of ourselves first and foremost when in positions of supporting others. TSP isn't a protocol but a way of being that reinforces mindfulness, compassion, healthy boundaries and dignity for all. Following a 9.5 hours pre-requisite online edited course “Trauma-Sensitive Practice” that can be seen at your convenience ahead of the in-person event on Jan 10th, 2024 Kim Barthel, OTR and Bob Spensley of Relationship Matters will be in Oasis Place, Malaysia in person to dive deeper and help put this information into practice.

Kim Barthel, OTR/L, C/NDT-NDTA – Occupational Therapist; Sensory Integration Specialist (Canada). Kim is a much-loved teacher and speaker who connects ideas and people in the service of supporting resiliency and health world-wide. Kim has extensive experience working with individuals and communities across multiple settings such as First Nations People, children and adults who have experienced trauma, children on the autism spectrum and with sensory processing difficulties. She has a background in sensory integration and has worked with people who have experienced natural disasters, live in war zones, and refugee camps.
